I think that I have now moved into a new phase, the intermediate rider. I am no longer a newbie, sweating bullets as I make turns, afraid to use that quick Savage acceleration to move through traffic, feeling my heart beating like a drum as I move into 4th gear. I think I'm like an 18 yr old driver, licensed for 2 years, thinks she knows it all, but can be dangerous.

Any hints for the intermediate rider? Should I sign up for the Safety course for 2 yr riders?

A related mechanical question: I ride in city type traffic. I use the clutch a lot. Is it hard on the clutch to hold it in, as you slow for a stop? I try to hold it, and then shift into neutral as I come to a stop. I know I'm going to use up the clutch faster because of the city driving, but any hints will help.

Rode up to the courthouse in Rockville, about a 15 mile roundtrip, a gorgeous day, sunny, about 55 degrees. Made me glad I was on the Savage.
